Magnification and Lighting
The Intraoral Camera allows us to show you the condition of your mouth while still in the chair (as we see it, and when we see it). These images are magnified and shown on the patient's chair side computer screen.
Computerized digital radiography makes it easy for you to "read" your x-ray right along with us. The patient computer monitor is used to view and enlarge x-rays. We can zoom in on problem areas and colorize the image to better distinguish between healthy and decayed tooth areas.
Surgical Telescopes
The kids usually get a laugh out of these glasses; but Dr. Marcia Nemecek is able to observe magnified views of your teeth and better inspect the smallest craters, edges and slight cracks in your teeth. Also she can better inspect the quality of her work during and after treatment.
Lighting
In addition to the overhead light, sometimes Dr. Marcia attaches a special light to her glasses.Other times she uses a lighted mirror. For many procedures she uses the Isolight, which combines a soft piece of rubber on which the patient can rest teeth with a light ,suction.and protective guards for the tongue and cheeks all inside the mouth.. All of these additional lighting devices enable Dr. Marcia to better view your teeth and the work she is doing on them.
Our Microdentistry techniques use an assortment of special dyes, magnification and special lighting to help us better inspect your teeth for decay and other dental problems. This enables us to better protect your natural tooth surfaces. Most small to medium sized cavities can be restored with no needle and no drill. This prevents taking away good tooth structure or the unnecessary risk of fracturing teeth.
